Day 2 of Asia Music Festival 2013 ( Hope and Appreciation)

On 5th Oct 2013, STB were expecting people to come and fill up the Eastwood Floating stage. its 4 o Clock and we yet to see crowds gather. there were only few people standing and sitting at the tables provided. Well, at least most of the table are filled.

The first performer of the day was the Mountain Band. Consist of 5 Kelabit members, this band really put me in country mood. the even sang 1 or 2 kelabit song that day. and i remember Ozzy and Datu Rashid Khan danced Poco2 while they are performing. Their music is that fun.

Melissa Francis come next. To be honest, I never listen to MF songs. I listen to iban/dayak songs but not hers. But she is that good. I can put her at the same standard as Jaclyn Victor and Alyah. really. she sang most Iban song that day.And her only Malay song is 'Hujan'. i love that song. and another song that became my fav is Perening. Perening means 'look'/ look at me. i was amazed with these 2 songs. i didnt know that Iban song can be that good to listen. Brings eargasm to my ear. 

 

The third performer of the night was again, the Starlets band. As I've mentioned in the first post of this AMF2013, they are just amazing performer. Consist of 6 female members, they did really bring the shake to the dance floor. Rahmah was wearing Lady gaga look and sang Tina Turner song, while Tia, Daisy and Hazral sang Balada, rock , pop and ethnic songs. Milah (in red) really 'goyang' i tell you. Azie is on the keyboard she sang 'Andaiku bercinta lagi' . Nice.

 

Well, this is the one that i have been waiting for 2 days. i have heard some bad comments on his performance. but i followed his instagram which basically prove the bad comments were wrong. i dont really like to hear people saying this. and that. so i was looking forward for Fakhrul Razi's performance. So he sang 'Sik boh kitak nangis' by Zee Avi. it was a bold move since he didnt really memorize the lyric and the song or maybe he purposely change the song but overall performances was great. i cried halfway of his performance. why? because there was this one boy, who sang every lyrics of his songs and suddenly he invited this boy and he refuses even tho he still singing the song 'Salahkah aku' and the boy cried. every camera was clicking and people taking video of that moments and the boy cried. awww..I dont really understand why he cried tho. but i think they are related. i mean the boy and Fakrul. Kepo much? lol. ya.But it was really emotional.

One fact that i forgot to mentioned is that, Fakhrul Razi performance has also featured a local band named Camouflage. Below picture is Petrus, DJ Daffy from Kristal.fm Brunei Stephanie (on keyboard, Camouflage) and Fabian.

 The next performer has flew all the way from Thailand. Meet the Boy Thai Band. They played traditional Thai music instruments. One of it is Thai Xylophone call Ranad. For one moment it felt like we are at this small Rainforest World Music Festival in Miri. lol. #ilovethatboldguy

From pictures above you should know that this band came from India. Meet Anthony Dassan yen Party. at one point i just stared and enjoy the deep India soul rhythm. one pint i really dance to the beat they played. felt like want to dance on the stage.  they played fusion India music arrangement. Browse them in youtube if you dont believe me. i purposely did not want to post it here, just to give you extra things to do. Or maybe just browse their vid in my instagram page. lalalalalalala....

The Final performer of the night was Foxygirls. From Indonesia.. try to browse for foxy girls you know that you will find xxx things right. not that i ever try...ok la i browsed la .. satisfy?  hmm..now.. how can i put this into words ya? they are sexy and yet they are talented girls. With Modeling background these girls really bring the house down. dangdut, ethnic traditional music, pop song... they can really sing. and the best part in my entire Asia Music festival experience is, been called up to the stage. by Foxygirls. well, its actually Daffy punya kerja. but we all enjoyed at the end. We have this 'gelek punggung' battle. and Daffy won and received a kiss (on the forehead) booooo.... lol.

sooooooo... when we were busy covering and enjoying the music presented to us during the 2nd day, i didnt really noticed the crowd got bigger and bigger. Only when i was called up on the stage i saw a lot of people on the dance floor. well it is near 4000 right? sooo... i really hope STB decide to make this event as a yearly project. Apart from filling up the low peak season of Miri as mentioned by Datu Rashid, YB Lee did mentioned that Miri need an iconic event. As such maybe Asia Music Festival can be that so call 'iconic event'.

Before I end this, I really appreciate this opportunity that been given by STB and Sarawak Bloggers to cover the amazing amazing (must repeat that two times coz too amazing) event, and first time ever in Miri.

We really hope that this kind of event can be maintain and improve from time to time. The only thing that bothered me is the use of coupons, really a waste, coz if i didnt use it that 2 days i cant use it anymore ya?(well, actually i did, i still have RM14 of that coupons) so.. i think the coupon should go. that's it. lol.
